Multiple women and girls have come out across social media with disturbing allegations against “Succession’s” Nicholas Braun. The actor, who plays Cousin Greg on the hit HBO series, was first directly accused by a TikTok user who shared photos of her and her friends partying with Braun at Coachella when she was just 16.
In the video, she claims that Braun tried to invite her back to his hotel room, an invitation she declined, informing him she was in high school. She claims this did not deter him and that he eventually found another underaged girl to take advantage of. Since this video was posted, more frightening behavior has come to light.
“He gave me his number, and he invited me back to his hotel room. I declined because I didn’t want to get assaulted. But I later found out that same day he actually f–d someone else who I went to high school with, who was also underage.”
Reddit threads, old and new, have been discussing Braun’s “creepy” conduct shown at his New York bar, Ray’s, a Lower East Side concept, opened by Braun and Justin Theroux alongside hospitality industry vets Carlos Quirarte, Taavo Somer and Matt McCormick in 2019. Accusations of Braun utilizing Ray’s to take advantage of drunk young women have popped up in conversations across r/SuccessionTV, r/popculture and r/FauxMoi.
One commenter said, “It was common knowledge amongst girls at my college that if you went to the bar he owns and he was there, you’d probably end up sleeping together. It’s so horrifying reframing that in this light.”
Older conversations were dug up including a comment from 10 months ago, accusing both Theroux and Braun of similar behavior. A user posted a deep dive exposing Jen Aniston’s ex of seeking out younger girls to sleep with, similarly, at other restaurants owned by his friend Carlos Quirtare’s restaurant group Golden Age Hospitality.
“He routinely seeks out young women at his bar and follows very young IG models wearing next to nothing (we’re talking as young as 16). It’s super weird given his ‘wholesome’ vibe and honestly feels generally skeevy given how he now has a reputation for sliding into DMs and sleeping around. At 35, I just think it’s weird to for him to be seeking late teens/early 20s out!”
In addition to TikTok and Reddit, the allegations made it to Twitter. One user went as far as to start a thread of all the allegations made so far and a Succession fan account has even gone as far to try to get in touch with a journalist willing to report on the story as of a week ago.
But still, no major news outlet has bothered to pick up the story despite the rising number of victims and extremely consistent detailed accounts and fans continue to tune into the show every Sunday. “Succession” is currently airing its 4th and final season and already has 13 Emmy’s under its belt, with an average score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 85 on Metacritic. The episode that aired on April 11, after the accusations came out, brought in 2.5 million viewers hitting a record high.
Silence from HBO, his castmates and the media at large is telling but not surprising. Just weeks ago,Variety exposed Sebastian Bear-McClard’s history sexual misconduct and nothing much came from the story, despite the dark cloud of suspicion it cast over A24 Productions. Perhaps Braun is more well-connected than McClard, which is typically the reason behind the entertainment industry’s propensity for sacrificing girls and women in droves to keep the secrets of a few men.
