Nicholas Braun Wants You to Forget About His Allegations -- Don't
Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert Podcast is the latest stop on Braun's redemption tour
Nicholas Braun has been out and about since the rumblings of his sexual assault allegations surfaced online. Not a single mainstream outlet picked up the story despite several credible victim statements, but nearly all of them covered his appearance on the picket line alongside WGA writers, encouraging Succession’s loyal fanbase to support the writers, and “none of that exists without these people.” Revolutionary. Thanks, Nick.
In addition, he’s appeared on multiple podcasts including Q with Tom Power which aired on April 18 and more recently, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard which aired May 8. During the Armchair Expert episode, Braun acted particularly squirrelly when his dating life and frequent appearances on DeuxMoi were brought up.
He spoke of leaving for a summer in high school to film Disney’s Sky High and coming back to find his best friend had stolen his girlfriend, to which Shepard responded. “Did it make you hate women or friends?” Braun admitted that he is a “jealous” person in relationships and that the experience in high school was “brutal.”
He mocked DeuxMoi’s content about him, saying, “He was with a girl, or he was making out with somebody,” before explaining, “I'm a part owner in this bar called Ray’s in real life, so that was the first bar I was invested in, and so I would go there a pretty good amount. That was in July of 2019 so that was kind of as things were taking off with the show. Yeah, I guess it was a place that I frequented and they knew I could be there.
I’ve seen it so many times, where you say a thing, and then it gets snatched up and thrown into the internet, Twitter culture, and TikTok videos, you know, people who go to Ray’s to find me put up TikToks and stuff. So, it is nice, when I’m like, ‘Well okay, that girl’s looking at me, or that girl’s looking at me, or that girl, you know, gives me her number. But I trust almost no stranger girl that I meet.
In 2019, I was sort of like, ‘cool, this is fun, we can hook up, or we can date, it can be the common route of dating or just hooking up. And yeah, DeuxMoi would see me, and things like that, but I didn’t really care that much. It’s not shameful for me to be with a girl as a single man.”

Shepard then seemed to subtly defend Braun from the allegations stating, “We’re in this weird bent right now, which would be like, being sexual is somehow predatory, and I f—g hate that… In exploring all these different power dynamics that needed to be explored, it did put a whole haze over anyone just f*cking, which is a lovely activity.”
During the interview, he does seem to quickly confirm, but brush over the fact that he is in a relationship, which is notable considering he told The New York Times in 2021 that he had never been in a long-term relationship, ever. “I do yearn for it and yet I’m incapable of it. I go toward it and then I hit a wall where I’m like, I can’t go farther into this. I’ve got to exit,” he said. You mean… like a teenager?
As Nicholas Braun continues on his grand tour to distract you from the very credible allegations against him, I ask you to please remember his victims. As for me, I won’t be taking my foot off his neck. I hope he sends me a cease and desist.
